Greystone's newest addition from 2006 is an amazing solid log
cabin that the Ottawa Valley's famous lumber baron, John Rodolphus Booth,
would have thoroughly enjoyed using on his unlimited trips to this area.
J.R. Booth was the dean of the Valley lumber barons; held the
rights to the largest timber limits in the British Empire - most located in
the Ottawa Valley. He also built and operated 3 railroads in Ontario;
laying track as far as Parry Sound.
'J.R.'s HideAway' is a sophisticated retreat for 2 people -
complete with a corner stone fireplace; granite-topped vanity in the large
bathroom; custom designed cherry cabinets with a farm sink in the granite
counter in the kitchen area.
Enjoy cooking breakfast on the cheery red
stove and keeping wine cool in the matching fridge. The queen size bed has
a decadent feather bed and the 'Roots' linens are co-ordinated through to
the bathroom.You can enjoy duck watching and take in the phenomenal sunsets
while seated at the bistro set on the deck overlooking the lake.
J.R. Booth would have been proud to call this cabin his own - and
you will want to stake an annual claim after spending time enjoying the
luxurious and soothing ambience.
